Our children undergoes different milestones in their life and as a fresh student, there are several activities that they have to attend. October is United Nation month, i still remember the time I also used to join events such as this. This time, it was called Children Congress, so i guess time do change.
A parade was done with children dressed in different national costumes representing different countries of the world.
A country was assigned to each student and I remember i was always India at that time, because i look like one. Peachy got Saudi Arabia and looking at my daughter, i don’t know if we can pull it off and the fact that we already have a korean dress to wear. So, i asked her teacher if she can just represent South Korea which they readily agree.
She was very happy knowing that atlast she will be wearing her korean costume which she have been asking me for a year now. Of course, mommy is the one more excited than my little princess. I have been preparing for it several days and hand sew the small details like the patches and creating the headdress for her and putting some pearls on her dress.
We are all set but unexpected things do happened, at the very night before her event, our Peach caught a high fever and flu and i have to stay awake to see that she’s okay and the fever will goes down. Luckily, she was able to make it the following day, with still some fever and despite the rain, we could not let her not attend this day because it will be a major disaster for her part as she was looking forward to it for several weeks.
But it was all worth it, because she really enjoyed the day with her other classmate and she got her very first medal after winning the Math Quiz Bee. I was teary eyed as always as it was not just her achievement but ours too. We are proud of her that she was able to pull it even if she was already suffering from fever the day the quiz bee was held.
